A BSF project should earn its next phase
A BSF project should earn its next phase.
01 · Entry
Two routes into a phased roadmap
A customer should not have to commit to a complete facility before the case has shown what works.
Manna uses a phased roadmap. Customers can start from different places, and each phase produces something useful before the next commitment is made.
There are two common entry routes.
A commercially led customer usually starts with the BSF Business Case Service: quantify the case, make the go/no-go decision and define what a viable facility would need.
An R&D-led customer may start with a MIND-enhanced climatised module: build hands-on experience, train the operators and learn how the local substrate behaves.
02 · Roadmap
Phase 0 to Phase 3
Both routes converge on the same roadmap:
- Phase 0 — Validate. Finish with either a quantified case or a working unit and an informed view of the next step.
- Phase 1 — Pilot. Run a production-spec module on the customer's site, stabilise the climate, test the customer's substrate and train the local team.
- Phase 2 — Scale. Add production capacity, pre- and post-processing, supplier and buyer connections, and a larger trained operating team.
- Phase 3 — Full operation. Connect the necessary subsystems through Manna MIND and manage the operation through the Insect Farm Hub, with Manna continuing as the technology partner.
03 · Readiness
Enter where you are ready
The important part is not the numbering. It is that each phase stands alone.
Customers can enter where they are ready. They decide what to do next from what the previous phase actually showed — not from the momentum of an original plant concept.
Which phase is your project genuinely ready for?
