Compare the whole operation

Compare the current route, biogas, composting and a possible BSF route using the same material and treatment boundary. Include preparation, rejects and further treatment rather than looking only at the main process.

  • If you produce food waste

    Compare the cost and reliability of the current outlet with the complete cost and requirements of another route.

  • If you handle or treat biowaste

    Consider treatment capacity, collection logistics, operating costs, contracts and credible income from products.

  • If you are developing a local project

    Establish the available stream, site, operator, funding, local rules and potential buyers before selecting a process.

    Actual availability, composition, seasonal changes, contamination limits and required preparation.

  2. Capacity and site

    Achievable processing volume, reliability, rejects, utilities, space and further treatment of what remains.

  3. Full cost

    Collection, transport, investment, labour, energy, maintenance, product processing and remaining disposal.
