Before spending on design: the biowaste decision

Could your biowaste cost less to handle? Before spending on a new design, establish what would make changing the current route worthwhile.

01 · The decision

Start from the decision you need

The useful output of an evaluation is a decision you can act on.

Manna's BSF Business Case Service starts with the stream and the existing arrangement: what leaves the site, where it goes, what the full route costs, and which contracts or capacity limits matter.

02 · Three outputs

What a scoped evaluation brings

A scoped evaluation brings those facts into three practical outputs:

  • 1. A verified baseline. The current route, available volume, cost and constraints, with missing evidence visible.
  • 2. A comparison of credible routes. Black soldier fly (BSF) bioconversion is considered alongside options such as biogas, composting or improving the present process. Each needs the same whole-site cost boundary and realistic utilisation assumptions.
  • 3. A recommendation for the next decision. What the evidence supports, which assumptions could change the answer, and what still needs testing. Legal inputs and outputs, product buyers and operating responsibilities belong in that decision.

03 · The recommendation

What the evidence can support

The recommendation may be to keep the current route, change part of it, test a specific uncertainty or stop an investment proposal. A positive result is not automatic approval to build.

Where BSF fits, Manna can support the next stages with process design, training and MIND technology. Other routes may end with an analysis and recommendation.

04 · Your case

Which decision is blocked?

Which decision is blocked in your case: whether to change the route, what to test, or whether to invest?

Bring the decision into focus

Manna can start with the stream and the existing arrangement, then agree the level of analysis that makes the next decision clearer.
