Larvae Counting / Dosing Tabletop Prototype Demand-Test
While we have been dosing and testing new recipes, it occurred to me that there is no low-cost table-top larvae counting / dosing solution for smaller batches (e.g. 10 to 200 trays).
01 · The challenge
Counting every tray by hand
We have learned to do this manually with small kitchen scale very effectively, but it is still hard work to get 10,000 larvae exactly on every tray. This is important for recipe testing and R&D work, and also when wanting to estimate survivability in the process.
02 · The prototype
A small, portable solution
We have now developed a prototype solution at a cost level of $1500 that is small, portable and can help in dosing correctly to small boxes.
03 · The question
Is there need beyond our own?
Just wondering if there is need for this beyond our own. If so, please comment or DM me so I have an idea if we should finalise the prototype.
