Manna MIND
Ask ten people what "Manna MIND" is and you get ten answers. Often it gets confused with the container. So here is the plain version.
01 · What it is
Manna MIND is software
Manna MIND is software — the brain of BSF production, not the production space itself. It creates and holds the optimal environment for every stage: breeding, rearing and nursing. At a minimum it runs on temperature, humidity and CO₂ sensors, and expands to as many as a site needs, adjusting as the cycle changes.
02 · Why it exists
The conditions BSF needs
The reason it exists: BSF needs stable, optimal conditions, and even the best outdoor climate cannot deliver them. Breeding especially is sensitive to small changes. The right conditions shift through the cycle and differ completely between Finland, Kenya and Brazil. No off-the-shelf HVAC is built for that — it holds an office at a steady temperature and is rarely cost-optimal for a specific site.
03 · Not hardware
The equipment is decoupled
So MIND is deliberately not a hardware product. The equipment is decoupled — AC, heater, dehumidifier, humidifier, fans, lighting — sourced locally and as cheaply as the site allows, and MIND drives each one through relays so they behave as one system. The intelligence is in the software, and we want the hardware built locally at the lowest cost: Manna provides designs for low-cost spaces and can deliver turnkey, but always to minimise the customer's spend. The better the local climate, the less equipment and material cost per cubic metre — so location works in the customer's favour.
04 · What it delivers
For the operator
What that delivers for an operator:
- Stable production with fewer human errors. Sensors, automated control and smart alarms (phone and email) keep conditions right whether someone is on site or not.
- Far less daily work. No babysitting equipment — operators focus on the biology, not the thermostat.
- A unit designed around the site, not a catalogue. Because each piece is sized for the space, CAPEX and OPEX are tuned to where the module runs — and in real deployments MIND has measured 4–6× the power efficiency of traditional HVAC, under 1 kW for a 20ft-container-equivalent. The efficiency isn't the pitch; it's what good design looks like from outside.
05 · Scaling
Across the whole facility
And it scales with the operation. Climate is where customers start, where most yield is won or lost — but the same platform stretches across the whole facility: breeding lights and dark-room cycles, the feed kitchen, the hatchery, air handling. Deployments, all anonymised, all live sites, run the full range — from a single 20ft container, to a warehouse room or greenhouse, to a multi-room industrial facility running 10+ MIND units. Same software, same dashboard, whatever the scale.
06 · Today
75+ units in 30+ countries
Today there are 75+ MIND units in operation across more than 30 countries. It is one of several solutions Manna brings to a customer — the one that turns a climatised space from a daily worry into something that simply runs.
